Another Day That Will Live in Infamy

There have now been three days that will live in infamy for this country and two have occurred in the month of December. Both December occurrences have been a threat to our democracy and have taken place astrologically with reference to the United States' chart while the Sun was transiting through the Seventh House of open enemies (the house of war). On December 7, 1941, the enemy was the Japanese who attacked Pearl Harbor. As a result, we entered World War II. On December 12, 2001, the enemy was the Supreme Court who stopped the Florida recount and fraudulently put George W. Bush in the White House. As a result, we've been told to get over it, because we're at war in Afghanistan.

While in the past the seventh house in our nation's chart has described enemies that are outside our borders, the December 12th date indicates that we also have many internal enemies (traitors) of our democracy. Besides the five members of the Supreme Court (Scalia, Rehnquist, O'Connor, Kennedy, Thomas) that voted to stop the recount of Florida votes on December 12, other internal and obvious enemies of our democratic way of life include the Bush Family, particularly George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Jeb Bush, as well as Kathleen Harris (Florida's Secretary of State), Ted Olson (lawyer representing Bush campaign before the Court and active Clinton defamer) and most Republicans who supported this debacle.

The Japanese incurred grave karmic retribution for their attack on Pearl Harbor and their support of the Axis powers during World War II. Will these internal enemies of our democracy reap their own karma for their infamous actions on December 12th? Ted Olson has already had to pay. His wife, Barbara Olson, another nasty Clinton defamer, was on the plane that dove into the pentagon. Who's next?

Asscroft--Another Threat to Our Democratic Way of Life

Attorney General Asscroft must be taking lessons on the destruction of democracy from Nazi Hermann Goering (see quote above). Last week, while appearing in front of the Senate Judiciary committee, he said,

"'To those who pit Americans against immigrants and citizens against noncitizens, to those who scare peace-loving people with phantoms of lost liberty, my message is this: Your tactics only aid terrorists, for they erode our national unity and diminish our resolve. They give ammunition to America's enemies, and pause to America's friends. They encourage people of goodwill to remain silent in the face of evil."

Although he tried to whitewash his statement later, he obviously believes that criticism of the Justice Department, the Bush administration, or of himself gives aid and comfort to the enemy.

Besides this dangerous statement in front of the committee, Asscroft refused to acknowledge the anti-democratic nature of military tribunals, racial profiling, violations of attorney client privilege, refusal to allow FBI to check gun records of those detained for questioning, as well as his actions to undermine Oregon's assisted suicide law and California's medical marijuana initiative, proves that he is a dangerous blockhead in need of dismissal.

This column previously discussed the blockheadedness of this man, but perhaps it will be worthwhile to give an astrological analysis of his chart once again.

Unevolved Taurus is one of the most mean-spirited and dangerous signs of the zodiac. While highly developed Taurus' can be some of the most spiritual and philosophically astute individuals, the negative Taurus can do a great deal of damage. Adolph Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Nicolai Lenin are Taurean world leaders who have caused great suffering.

Although I wouldn't put Asscroft in the same league with the evil triumvirate mentioned above, he is capable of much mischief and is a danger to our democratic system. In past diary entries I mentioned that he reminded me of the men in the fundamentalist authoritarian society of A Handmaid's Tale.

According to The Zodiac Image Handbook, The Fixed Signs, the 18th degree of Asscroft's Sun sign is," Two bulls charge each other with heads down, while further into the courtyard of the farmhouse two billy goats confront each other in the same way with their horns." The narrative describing this image paints a distressing picture of the individual that has it: "They run their heads against walls and attract opponents from the same level of primitive bulldozing types as themselves." They are apparently easily irritated, with a bad temper and "quickly aroused by minor resistance". They are obsessed with their goals (achieving money and power) and can be "unscrupulous in achieving their ends...They trample things right into the ground."

Although Taurus is generally not considered an emotional sign, Asscroft's Moon is in Pisces and is conjunct or at least in the same sign as his South Node. This is indicative of an individual that needs to be more analytical (North Node in Virgo) and less reactive, more realistic and less fantasy prone. He is probably in a delusionary state quite a bit of the time, and with Venus in Aries and opposite Neptune in Virgo, he is not seeing his relationships clearly and will probably be easily taken in by unscrupulous individuals. With these particular aspects, he needs to be very careful about combining his political aspirations with his religious orientation to create a dangerous stew of demagoguery and low level Taurus ambition.

Maybe he'll have some quick karma when Mars squares Saturn two days before Christmas and both planets conjunct his South Node of undoing. Perhaps he'll drag Bush, who has natal Mars being stimulated by the same Mars Saturn square, down a peg as well. Both men are going to be very angry and frustrated around that time. I guess it's too much to ask for the two of them to use the energy to be more self-reflective and less tyrannical. Bush had better start being more self-reflective now, though. The last time I saw him on television, he didn't look like he was in very good health. Too gaunt, he's beginning to look desiccated.

Enron: Getting Even with California

Enron has gone belly-up and according to the BBC online, its top executives are being sued for $25 billion by the Amalgamated Bank of New York, one of the company's shareholders. Amalgamated Bank alleges that executives like Kenneth Lay, Bush buddy and CEO of Enron, and Texas Senator Phil Gramm's wife, Wendy, knew about Enron's collapse and dumped their shares before the price plummeted. Amalgamated says that Enron was a "grotesque fraud".

Enron was a grotesque fraud when it allowed all of the employees who invested their 401k with the company to go belly up. Even People magazine ran an article on the devastating effect this has had on the workers.

Enron was a grotesque fraud when it gouged California and sent our entire state into an energy black hole. For years, Kenneth Lay gave the Bush family big bucks to buy influence, and Lay's Enron was allowed to continue to screw California by George W. Bush, who was trying to get even for the voters giving him the finger in the last election as well as pay back Lay, one of his father's sleazy points of light.
