Tony Blair: Smart, George W. Bush: Dumb

Bushwatch.com has been publishing information that compares English Prime Minister's Tony Blair's war rhetoric with our own George W's. An article by David Corn quoted in its entirety on bushwatch.com clearly shows the difference in depth of intelligence of the two men. While Bush has used superficial jingoistic platitudes in his speeches, Tony Blair, like Bill Clinton's response to this tragedy, is trying to delve into the reason for it, and find a solution that will get to the root of the Islamic fundamentalists' rage. Blair said, "I believe this is a fight for freedom. And I want to make it a fight for justice too .The starving, the wretched, the dispossessed, the ignorant, those living in want and squalor from the deserts of Northern Africa to the slums of Gaza, to the mountain ranges of Afghanistan, they too are our cause."

Bush does not want to uncover the roots of the fundamentalists' hatred because his family and the Republican leadership are partially responsible for it. Fundamentalists of all religions are myopic psychotics but Islamic fundamentalists, particularly, would not see their ranks swell if we had paid more attention to the Arab grievances that ignited their cause. If the Bushes and the Republicans had paid more attention to international humanitarian concerns over the last fifty years rather than their pocketbooks, it is doubtful that the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers would have happened at all. The bastards wouldn't have had the ammunition to cause such destruction.

While I sit at home in front of my computer, drinking my coffee in the very pleasant home that my husband and I own, I compare my comfortable environment with the devastation of Afghanistan and the poor Afghan people under the Taliban dictatorship. I feel guilty that our government did nothing to intervene as this evil government was imprisoning and murdering the Afghan women.

Are we doomed like Atlantis?

While reading the Colin Wilson and Rand Flem-Ath's book, The Atlantis Blueprint, I realize to acknowledging the possible existence of an ancient civilization like Atlantis fills some of us with grave dis ease. Not only does it worry us that a powerful civilization could be destroyed so completely by natural disasters (like flood waters or being hit by an asteroid or comet, for example), but it is distressing to note that an entire civilization could disappear with barely a trace. Knowledge of this culture's technological advancements has disappeared as well. This leaves us with the big idea that it could happen again: our culture destroyed along with all information chronicling it. Would we again have to start over as our ancestors did after Atlantis was destroyed? Is this a horrendous cycle that repeats itself again and again? Do we advance to a point in the development of our consciousness and then have to start over after a cataclysm destroys our technological resources and leaves no chronicle that we've even existed? Are we talking about a perpetual but cyclic bomb back to the Stone Age? If this dreadful scenario is the case, we're in deep do do. However, some individuals believe that we've been warned about this very possibility and if we take the proper precautions, we might be able to avoid the same fate.

This Atlantis dilemma looms up in my mind again as the U.S. continues to bomb the hell out of the Taliban in Afghanistan. While it is necessary to get rid of a government that not only gives shelter to Bin Laden, but executes women who have asserted their rights, some of us wonder if this will set the stage for more terrorist strikes against innocent Americans. Will there be further escalation of violent retribution so severe that there is nothing left to stop it except a total destruction of our civilization and the birth of another? Will God allow a natural disaster to again destroy a civilization that does not raise its consciousness, but allows chaos to run rough shod over the face of the planet?

I just read a book on the miracle sightings of the Virgin Mary at Fatima (The Fatima Secret) around the time of World War I, and was struck by the "coincidence" of the communications from the Virgin Mary taking place in a Portuguese town that's named after a Moorish princess named after Mohammed's daughter, Fatima. In the 12th century the princess fell in love and married a Christian soldier and converted to Christianity.

Reading this during a time of so much misery and tension between Arab and Jewish fundamentalists and the rest of the world gave me the idea that Christianity is now meant to be a third force. This could be the catalyst altering the seesaw opposition between the Arab and Jewish tribes that have been locked in wars of retribution for centuries. As a follower of Christ, the Pope advised that we turn the other cheek after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, to not act in a spirit of retribution, to not be stuck in the Old Testament, when all Christians are supposed to turn to the New. If we go to war just to punish Bin Laden and his ilk, we will continue the violence and the hatred. If we go to war to protect others and ourselves in the world from Bin Laden and rid the world of the Taliban government, we will be properly fighting evil like we did in World War II. If we work like Tony Blair wants us to work to remove the cause of the fundamentalist hatred, we will be doing a lot to insure that we aren't doomed like Atlantis

Rush Limbaugh: Karma Takes Its Toll

Like the late and mean Lee Atwater(campaign worker for George Bush the Elder) before him, Rush Limbaugh is now suffering the brunt of a karmic payback that is not only devastating but apropos in its effect. While Rush has been diagnosed as 80% deaf, Lee Atwater died from a brain tumor after working as the dirty trickster of the Bush campaign against Democrat Michael Dukakis. To his credit, Atwater realized the mistakes he'd made before he died. I wonder if Rush Limbaugh will see the link between his present condition and the poison he has spewed out over the airways for the last couple of decades. Being the caustic prejudiced voice of stupid angry white men has given him no brownie points with the Great Almighty, I'm sure.

I wish I could feel some compassion for Limbaugh, but I don't. According to his birth chart, he should have been living a life of self-sacrifice,(Sun[Ego] in 12th House(of sacrifice), compassionate and giving to others(North Node[present path] in Pisces conjunct Moon[emotions] in Pisces), but he has not.

He has been a public liar (Mercury in Capricorn square Saturn) and has been a divisive angry voice (Mars opposing Pluto) when we've needed a vocal support for harmony and humanitarianism. Hopefully, his affliction will take him off the air so he can re-evaluate his life path and turn his attention to more positive pursuits other than being nasty and ugly on the radio. Perhaps, he'll even be able to follow his true direction of loving service to humanity.
