Before the Gulf War, the US government under Reagan Bush gave billions of dollars to Saddam Hussein while he was fighting our enemies, the Iranians. We didn't pull back our support when he gassed the Kurds. Evidently the Republicans were making too much money in arm sales. We didn't stand up against Saddam's heinous crimes until he invaded Kuwait and refused to go along with our program. Then we had to spend billions of dollars to get the bastard out of Kuwait, and killed thousands of Iraquis in the process, but left Saddam in power to create more *evil (maybe he is the major player behind the recent terrorist attack) .

Before the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the US government under George W. Bush was funding the Taliban regime in Afghanistan to the tune of 43 million dollars in order to reward their interdiction efforts against their primary cash crop, the opium poppy. We didn't stand up against them for their destruction of Buddhist religious statues, nor for their harboring of Bin Laden, nor did we refuse all foreign aid because of their heinous crimes against women. Evidently, The Republicans are more concerned with heroin then they are with women's rights. Now we are going to have to spend billions of dollars to wage a war against Bin Laden who we originally trained in his battle against the Soviets, as well as against the regime that harbors him.

What's wrong with this picture? Isn't anybody else tired of this bull shit? How long will we have to pay the price for the same insane foreign policies repeated over and over again?

We can blame Republican policies for this slaughter of innocents until doomsday, but that won't help mitigate the terrible grief that we're now experiencing in this country. We've got to move forward with policies to insure that this doesn't occur again. Besides transforming our security systems and creating an ultimately more compassionate and enlightened foreign policy, now that we've targeted the Taliban government, we've got to get rid of them, along with Bin Laden and company. Burn the regime that terrorizes women and turns them into slaves and supports a demon that's willing to sacrifice millions of lives to justify his twisted philosophy. And don't back off when we have them all of them in our sights, like we did with Saddam. How much better to capture them and bring them in front of the Court at the Hague, like the world has done with Milosovic. But if they can't be captured alive then I guess they'll have to be sent on their way to Hell.
