The destruction of the World Trade Center consumed all my energy yesterday and filled me with foreboding. While it made me sick to my stomach, my friend Paddy said she vomited three times yesterday morning. I imagine many of us have had the same physical response to this horror. George Bush still couldn't speak correctly about it. He referred to the terrorists as "folks". This word is used for family members or those that you feel chummy with, and should never be used to refer to suicidal psychopaths.

Dick Cheney may have inadvertently lit the match that ignited this terrible destruction of human life. In an article titled, "Assassination is Wrong and Dumb" in the September 3-9 Washington Post Weekly, Vincent Cannistraro, former chief of CIA counterterrorism operations, discusses the recent Israeli assassination of Abu Ali Mustafa, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. He says the U.S. should not support any assassination of any political leader and he claims that Cheney appeared to tacitly condone the assassination in an interview with the Arab network, Al Jajeera. To do so, Cannistraro says, "provides more incentive and state support for bin Laden's operatives in carrying out new violence against America." Further he says, "We may well see a resumption of terrorist activity directed against the United States by the surrogates of the state sponsors of terrorism that we had all believed to have been banished from the 21st century." Remember this article was written several weeks ago and was published in the Washington Post online on August 30.

If we position Cheney's apparent tacit support of the assassination of Abu Ali Mustafa along side Bush's recent castigation of Arafat, and the cold shoulder given Bush's Arab supporters when they came to the White House after he became its resident, we can start to see some of the actions that may have inflamed the terrorists enough to go forward with their well thought out plan to slaughter thousands of innocent Americans.

Under primarily Republican presidents, the United States has been accruing heavy karma in the foreign policy arena for some time. When I look at the United States horoscope for September 11, I see strong karmic indicators with the transiting north and south node involved with Mars, the planet of violence and war in the 8th house of death opposing Venus in the 2nd House of Money. The World Trade Center, which is the symbol of our capitalistic society, was destroyed.

Our materialistic agenda, most notably under Republican presidents, has included the support of murderous dictators that have tortured and murdered their citizens and the overthrow of legitimate leaders because they either didn't go along with our program or they were considered socialistic (commie pinkos). Under Eisenhower, the CIA led by Allen Dulles helped to overthrow the democratically elected government of Guatemala. This initiated a 25 year reign of terror against the indigenous peoples of that country. Under Reagan, our government supported the evil leader of Guatemala, Rios Montt. Because of Nixon and his treacherous behavior while Johnson was president, there were thousands more Vietnamese slaughtered then there would have been had Johnson been able to get all the parties to the peace table as he had planned. Under Nixon, the US supported the overthrow of the democratically elected Allende of Chile and allowed the military takeover by the dictator Auguste Pinochet(a friend of the elder Bush, by the way) Interestingly enough, the children of a Chilean general, who was murdered during the military dictatorship of Auguste Pinochet(a friend of elder Bush), are presently suing Henry Kissinger and former CIA Director Helms for their father's murder. If you read Christopher Hitchens book, Trial of Henry Kissinger, you'll see why Kissinger should be tried as a war criminal.

All of this creates a hole in our psychic shield. I'm deathly afraid that the American people will have to pay for the Republicans' craven behavior. Saturn, another karmic indicator, is in the first house of the US chart opposing Pluto in the Seventh House of enemies. This means that the American people will suffer harm(Saturn in the first house)due to criminal acts from an enemy (Pluto in Seventh house). Saturn was in the US first house during World War II and about thirty years later during Nixon's second term. In the first instance we had to enter a World War to help fight an evil egomaniac that initially we had tried to ignore, despite horrible tales of Jews being rounded up and murdered. In the second instance, we had to suffer through the Watergate debacle because we elected a sociopath as president. Now with another Saturn cycle operating, are we paying the price for allowing an vacuous dumbo reside in the White House?

The latest Bush nominee is J. Robert Brame III to the National Labor Relations Board. He's the board secretary of American Vision, a whacko religious right wing organization that believes, among other things, that "homosexuality is a sin worthy of death." Once more we have intimations of Margaret Atwood's, A Handmaid's Tale. How many times have I mentioned that book in this newsletter with regards to the personnel of the Bush administration?"

Unfortunately, Brame got his foot in the door when he joined the board during the Clinton administration. Republicans refused to act on Clinton's other appointees unless he agreed to put this creep on the Labor Relations Board. While fulfilling his duties, he consistently voted against labor.
