Aug 24 Nausea and George Bush I need to take a vacation from George Bush. He's making me sick. Ever since the election, it's aftermath, and his beginning tenure in office, I have been physically ill. I forget the link between mind and body at my peril. I no longer watch him on television or the news, for that matter, because I can't control my rage. Rage is not good for ones health, unless some positive action can be taken to channel it. I, like millions of other Americans, have no power to affect policy. The only outlet I have is writing. Many people don't even have that. However, I think all of us who object to George Bush and his minions must find some sort of creative way of dealing with our frustration. I've come to the conclusion that our salvation is in our creative response to this dreadful happenstance. Nausea and Ralph Nader It's unfortunate, but Ralph Nader also makes me sick. I just read an interesting article in the September 13 edition of Rolling Stone titled, "Ralph Nader is not sorry" by John Colapinto. The author confirms several perceptions about Nader that I had before the election. Although this is the third time I've published my thoughts on Ralph, I guess I'm still as obsessed with him as he is with trying to destroy the Democrats and getting even with Al Gore. After reading this article, it is still clear that Nader is being motivated by his Moon in Leo conjunct the South Node. The Moon in a sign reflects what makes us feel comfortable and how we express our emotions. The South Node indicates the path we should not take in this lifetime. When Ralph gets caught up in desire for attention,(Moon in Leo), he heads in the wrong direction(South Node in Leo). Colapinto mentions that when Bill Clinton and Al Gore failed to grovel at Nader's feet, he resentfully lashed out against the two of them. According to Nader as quoted in Calapinto's article, Nader phoned Gore in 1997 and asked to meet with him and talk over some issues. Gore suggested that they talk on the phone then but Nader would have none of it and wanted to meet in person. Gore, said, "We'll see about it." His ego was so bruised when Al Gore failed to give him the attention that he thought he deserved, he waged a vendetta against the Democrats during the election and said that if he wasn't running for president himself, he would vote for Bush rather than Gore. He is happy that Bush won the election because progressives now pay him more attention, he thinks (ignoring the scorn heaped on him by progressive moderates), and A Bush White House gives him something really odious to rail against. Since he sincerely believes that there is no difference between the two parties, (a philosophical belief mouthed ad nauseam by his extremely contentious Lebanese father) ,why not be happy that the more obvious devil is in the White House. He believes that Bush being the more conspicuous bogie man galvanizes the progressives in a way no moderate Democrat can. This is a similar argument that American Communists used against Franklin Roosevelt and the left wing used to support the election of Ronald Reagan. What Ralphie boy fails to understand is the extent of the damage that has already been done by the Bush administration, and how it damages ordinary people that aren't millionaires like he is. Ralph doesn't have to worry about losing his job in a recession, he has plenty of money. He doesn't have to worry about not having enough money to rent a place to live because he lives with his mother. He doesn't have children or a wife to worry about. Instead, He can spend the rest of his life running around the country churlishly lecturing the Democratic party for not being as saintly as he is. If we spend a little more time analyzing Ralph's horoscope, we can see his argumentativeness symbolized by his Mercury Mars conjunction trine Pluto. Mercury is communication, Mars is aggression and anger, and Pluto is persuasion. When he was addressing single issues he was quite powerful and effective. When he fails to focus and pits himself against those that don't go along exactly with his program, he deceives himself and fails to discriminate between friend and foe. This is reflected by his Mercury Mars conjunction as described above, opposing Neptune, the planet of deception and illusion. Al Gore could have been his friend but he let his ego get in the way. George Bush is his enemy, but he seems to like him better than Al Gore. There are other troubling astrological aspects that Nader has failed to resolve, including a Jupiter Uranus Pluto t-square. This translates as a stubborn and dangerously inflated obsession with his own individualism along with the inability to compromise or cooperate with others. If he continues to go his own selfish way and causes more trouble for the Democratic Party with the result that we get the Republicans in the White House for a second term, he will be universally hated. Our society will be in such disarray, it will take years of focused effort to bring it back to what it was when Clinton and Gore were in the White House, when we had a productive economy, good foreign relations, a low crime rate, and the beginning of a truly compassionate and egalitarian government. If the Republicans continue to control our government, all the good that Nader has done for us in the past will have come to naught. Isn't that the Devil's way? He takes a good man or woman and plays upon her/his ego, convincing the individual that no one else is as perfect, no one else has made such a contribution to universal welfare. Soon, universal admiration becomes universal disdain and the formerly good man becomes a pariah in the society. I didn't expect to rant and rave against Nader for a third time. Perhaps this should be the end of my obsession. If only Nader would figure it out. I'd like to respect him once again and stop my ranting and raving. Nausea and Gary Condit Condit is another creep that makes me sick. I think one of his former lovers is right. The airline stewardess that was asked to lie about their sexual relationship said, after hearing last night's Connie Chung interview, that Condit was a sociopath. I'm glad she was smart enough to cut off their relationship. I'm also pleased that Gephardt denounced the interview and seems to be making moves to distance himself from this "vain and egocentric dandy that frosts his hair" (from the March 1988 issue of California Journal). The Democratic Party doesn't need Condit. He's a right winger and not a real Democrat. He was playing footsies with George Bush and Company before the Chandra Levy case made him a pariah. Gary Condit is a real weenie. |
