Psychic Vera's Secret Diary February 20
Is This Man a Cunning War Criminal or Just a Pompous Potentate? According to Christopher Hitchens in his two articles in Harper's magazine, Henry Kissinger should be investigated for war crimes. After reading about this abominable ex-Secretary of State, I must agree with Hitchens. Although lauded by the press and political pundits, and especially worshiped by political talk show host, Ted Koppel, I wondered why Kissinger continued to receive accolades for his stupid and barbaric foreign policy proposals. Propaganda is a powerful instrument used by the dark forces to control our political system. The American people have reaped heavy karma because we allowed the two sociopaths, Nixon and Kissinger, to control foreign policy in the late '60's and early 70's. When will the higher powers lower the boom? And how can we atone for the following: Sabotage of the Vietnam Peace Talks Results in Thousands More Deaths In the Fall of 1968 right before the presidential election, Nixon and his henchmen sabotaged the Vietnam Peace talks by offering a better peace plan to the South Vietnamese if Nixon should become president. This gave President Thieu strong incentive to boycott the peace talks requested by President Johnson. Nixon's act of treason, resulting in a failure for the Democratic administration, helped him to win the US election in November. This incident was recounted chillingly in Anthony Summers book, The Arrogance of Power: The Secret World of Richard Nixon. What does Kissinger have to do with the sabotaged peace talks? According to Hitchens, Henry was the stool pigeon warning Nixon about the impending negotiations for peace. Kissinger was so trusted by the Johnson administration negotiators that according to Richard Holbrooke, he was the only person outside the administration authorized to be part of the discussions. At that time Kissinger worked for Nelson Rockefeller, didn't really know Nixon and in fact, felt contempt for the future president. Even so, his treasonous behavior paid off. After he took office, Nixon chose Henry for his national security advisor. Although Nixon, while running for president, said he had a plan to bring peace to Vietnam, the war still was going on four years later. During this time the death toll of Americans increased by 20,763, South Vietnamese by 109,230, and North Vietnamese soldiers by 496,260! Nixon and Kissinger can, therefore, be directly linked to this carnage. If they hadn't colluded in stopping the negotiations in 1968, 626,253 people wouldn't have lost their lives in this very unpopular war. Pulling Deadly Strings in Chile Chile was really a piece of work for Henry Kissinger. His machinations helped to overthrow the lawfully elected Allende, kill a democratic General, and led to a military coup that devastated the Chilean people. On the upside, Henry's realpolitik allowed him to establish a deadly friendship with the evil dictator, Pinochet, that has continued to this day. Who has been a more staunch supporter of the dreadful general's flight from justice for human rights abuses besides George Bush, Sr., than Henry Kissinger? Tacit Support of Indonesian Invasion of East Timor Results in Slaughter of One Third of Population The Ford Administration and Henry Kissinger, who was still, unfortunately, employed as Secretary of State, gave tacit support and authorized the back door shipments of weapons to the Indonesian government, which were used to slaughter between 50 and 80,000 Timorese citizens and annex this tiny country. Other Bloody Events Linked to This Miserable Mephistopheles: Bloodbath in Bangladesh--1971, civilian death toll as high as 3 million. Brutal Turkish Invasion of Cyprus--1974. Read Hitchens piece in Harpers for the full account of these war crimes. And to answer the question posed by the title of this article, Is This Man a Cunning War Criminal or Just a Pompous Potentate, I would have to say both. Although I never liked Kissinger when I was younger(I remember that awful fold out of a nude Henry in Cosmopolitan magazine. My mother said about it, "Isn't that god awful?"), I did think he was intelligent. But in the last ten years I've come to another conclusion about this man. While watching him give foreign policy advice on numerous news shows, I've come to the realization that his pompous pronouncements are almost entirely wrong and always have been. Let's put the light on this old fart and drum him out of public life. Aren't we already up to our eyeballs in miserable old white men that cavalierly destroy third world countries for their own self-aggrandisement and material obsession? |
