A student of mine once told me that male Virgos had difficult sex lives. Although he wasn’t a Virgo, he did know something about astrology and being a Scorpio he knew something about sex. Virgo is a sexually modest feminine sign and suits a woman just fine, Bill reasoned, but not a man. As boys, some Virgo men felt ashamed of their sexuality and repressed it. When they grew older all hell broke loose and they tried to make up for lost time.
That may be one thing that explains Mark Foley’s unseemly uncontrollable behavior with a male page. Another reason for his incredibly stupid actions is the, by now familiar, arrogant hypocrisy of Republican Party members. They think they can do whatever they want, that the media will continue to lay prostrate at their feet, that their vile actions have no consequences. Except, apparently, for Foley who with his Venus in Scorpio conjunct Saturn may really reap the karma (Saturn) for his selfish sexual obsession (Venus in Scorpio) with underage men.
Not including the dwarf planet Chiron or the North and South Nodes of the Moon, Foley has 7 planets in feminine signs. Apparently, he didn’t feel masculine enough to make passes at available men but, instead, has to resort to boys. Perhaps as a Virgo, he also wanted to make sure his sexual conquests were pure; Virgo can feel sullied by sexual energy. With Venus conjunct Neptune in his birth chart, he’d also be idealistic and want to find the perfect boy, and with the Moon in Capricorn he’d be rather cold and calculating about it. Not having his exact time of birth, we can only hypothesize that his Moon is in a stressful configuration with Neptune (delusion), Chiron, Jupiter (arrogance) Uranus (erratic, unpredictable) and the Moon’s nodes. I would suggest that his relationship with his mother (Moon) is a dysfunctional one. He’s taken on many of her qualities: emotionally cold, unpredictable, arrogant.
Foley’s hypocrisy is a big part of the outrage. According to Wikipedia.org:
“In the House, Foley was one of the foremost opponents of child pornography. Foley had served as chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. He introduced a bill in 2002 to outlaw websites featuring sexually suggestive images of preteen children, saying that "these websites are nothing more than a fix for pedophiles." In June 2003 he wrote letters to the governor and attorney general of Florida, asking them to review the legality of a program for teenagers of a Lake Como nudist resort in Land O'Lakes, Florida.
Foley's legislation to change federal sex offender laws was supported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, America's Most Wanted host John Walsh, and a number of victims' rights groups. President George W. Bush signed it into law as part of the Adam Walsh Child Safety and Protection Act of 2006.
Foley also succeeded in getting a law passed that allows volunteer youth-serving organizations like the Boy Scouts of America and Boys and Girls Clubs to have access to FBI fingerprint background checks to help protect children.”
What was he thinking? Preteen boys and girls were off limits but high school pages weren’t? He’s like the priest(Foley is a Catholic) who didn’t think that fooling around with alter boys was really sex or as morally repugnant as having sexual relations with women.
It’s interesting to learn from Foley’s attorney that he claims he was molested by a member of the clergy(probably a priest) when he was 15 years old or so. Now he’s trying to recreate the incident or incidents by reversing the roles? I guess it goes back to the initial repression of his sexuality because he’s a Virgo male with Venus conjunct Saturn in Scorpio and the explosive results of that repression. It’s a tragedy that he was a molest victim but he compounds it by failing to work it through psychologically so he doesn’t poison the well with more predatory behavior of his own.
It’s hard to miss the irony of the Family Values Party impoding because one of their members is a predator of teen age boys and no one did anything to stop him.
Isn’t this outrageous and offensive: so many Republican perverts and so little time spent pursuing them. Hopefully the voters will finally get a clue.
