Cristina O. said on New Years Day that she was very happy to see the end of 2003. I was surprised because, unlike me, she is, generally, in a pretty good mood. Life's trials rarely seem to get her down for long. Besides having to take care of a very ill stepfather, though, the state of our country left her very distressed. In 2003 she felt hopeless.
The Dean candidacy had given her some hope in 2003, but the end of the year brought the atrocious and self-destructive behavior of the other Democratic candidates who can't see they don't have a chance in hell to win the primaries. So what do they think they're achieving when they try to eviscerate Dean? I've never seen Democrats act so viciously towards a front-runner in the primaries.
Perhaps Dean is partly to blame for pressing his Scorpio finger into their soft bellies. From the beginning he wanted to know why they were letting George Bush and his ilk get away with murder. Why did Lieberman, Gephardt, and Kerry vote for the Iraq slaughter? Why did some of them vote for the Bush tax cuts? In the beginning the only Democrat that was standing up to Bush was Gore, until Dean came along. The only presidential candidate in Congress or the Senate that was willing to blast Bush was Kucinich and he can't win against Bush; he doesn't have enough charisma. None of the candidates coming out of Washington, except Kucinich, seem to have any understanding of the rage and distress being voiced by the Democratic electorate. It wasn't just that Dean was able to tap into our rage; he was also giving voice to his own anger about the damage the Bush administration was doing to our country. The situation has become so dangerous that the Democrats can no longer go along with anything the Bush administration wants. The Democrats have no choice but to become obstructionists because the Republicans are destroying the country.
I haven't discussed Howard Dean's chart very much, because the birth time he, apparently, gave to someone doesn't seem accurate. His stated time, 7:25 PM gives him Cancer rising with most of his planets below the horizon. I don't think it fits because he is so much in the public eye. A chart with planets primarily below the horizon says he wants to stay more to himself or just be with his family and loved ones.
Even without the right time, there's still a good case to be made for Dean being the only candidate that can correct the malfeasance of the Bush administration. The American people have landed in a sewage pit, thanks to Dubya and his ilk, and a Scorpio is the only sign that can stand the stink of the sludge long enough to clean it out. Scorpios are made for tough ugly work. Look at Teddy Roosevelt, another Scorpio that scoured out the muck. He busted the trusts, he cleaned up the slums.
Dean's Moon is in Gemini, which certainly gives him a penchant for sticking his foot in his mouth from time to time. You know that Gemini always says what it thinks at the time, which can change in the next second. Having a Gemini Moon doesn't mean he's mentally unstable. It just means that he's never learned to completely shut down the censor. However, with regards to his private life he still displays his Scorpio secretiveness.
The Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Gemini combination gives Dean, according to Grant Levi, in Heaven Knows What, "an impressive personality with a flair for people that makes him exceedingly popular, a quality of reserve lends charm to his surprisingly vocal and voluble manner of expression. He has a keen sense of humor, loves a good story, and tells stories exceedingly well." This combination also makes Dean capable of deep penetrating thought as well as superficial chitchat. He can stick to his purpose and be emotionally adaptable. He's a man for all situations.
Dean's trine between Jupiter and Saturn is a good business aspect. Levi says he's "an excellent manager of funds and can stretch a dollar to the limit without being penurious or petty." Won't that trait come in handy when he's trying to get the country's finances back in order, after Bush has made a complete mess out of them? He's not an irresponsible spendthrift like Bush, who has the impulsivity of Mars ruling his money house. This harmonious aspect between the money planets also gives him a sense of honor and justice. He won't sell us to the highest bidder or make the poor and middle class take over shouldering the responsibilities for the rich.
He and Bush were both born with spoons in their mouths, but Dean unlike Bush didn't follow in his father's footsteps. While Bush was failing at managing his own oil business, Arbusto energy, Dean left his job as a stockbroker and became a doctor. Unlike Bush, but like Teddy or Franklin Roosevelt, or the Kennedy's, all born into wealth, he has been able to develop compassion and a generous spirit to those less fortunate than he is. Although Bush billed himself as a compassionate conservative, it was a fraudulent claim, as was the threat of Iraq having a cache of WMD's. Bush only shows compassion for rich white men.
Other interesting aspects of Dean's chart include the degree symbols for his Scorpio Sun Sign as explained in The Zodiac Image Handbook, The Fixed Signs by Dutch astrologers, Helene and Willem Koppejan.
The first image for 25 degrees is: "A man is swimming with calmness and confidence in a turbulent sea. It symbolizes an enlightened human of the so-called Terra Nova or New Earth, who throws himself into danger to rescue others. He does not see the horizon for a time, as he give himself so completely to the problems of others that he is even held responsible for those he rescues. Nobody really gives a helping hand to save these rescuers in their turn" (see how the other Democratic candidates are trying to drown Dean). These people often undergo a very tragic life experience, which may have to do with death (his brother Charlie murdered in Laos), but nothing can prevent them from wrestling through. They may annoy fainter hearts (like the Democratic Leadership Council) by their persistence. They will throw themselves in at the deep end, time and again, each time becoming more passionate in their efforts to save. The sea may be interpreted as the emotions of the common people en masse, through which these people have to swim as politicians or even as advisers on the fluctuating stock market...Their spirit is all goodness, their sense of sacrifice is great. In whatever precarious circumstances they may be, one always senses that they are fundamentally invincible. Even when things seem hopeless and nobody else has faith or strength, they still have an inner resource...They need to be shielded from the hidden dangers of false friends and slanderers...They have to aware that they are vulnerable unless they ask for inner protection from perilous currents embedded in society...On a high level they may be of invaluable worth to the medical profession."
The second image for the 25th degree is: "Thanks to an accurate x-ray diagnosis, a man's life is saved. When these people have gone through the sea of misery and tragedy, there comes a penetrating ray from another world, which make them completely independent of earthly circumstances...They see through all appearances to the truth behind. They know what kind of supernormal science will save humanity. They work with the Savior to save, and to prepare the New Age for a True Terra Nova, a New Earth."
We must have a president that can help lead us into a New Age, someone that sees through the fraud and the lies of the Bush administration, that can wrest the controls from a chief executive that's leading us off the edge of the world. Will the majority of the voters be smart enough to, first, see what a perilous situation we're in and ,second, to realize that Dean is the man to help us?
