Arnold Wins but Republicans Will Reap the Bad Thing

Bush is swamped by a flood of bad news. His popularity is tumbling, his rationale for war in Iraq is crumbling, his economy is stumbling and his aides are bumbling with an outrageous intelligence breach.

October, the month for Republican reckoning is finally here. Although stupid Californians voted for Arnold Swartzenegger, on other fronts it's grim reaper time for the Republicans, particularly those that were born under the signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. It's Saturn, the terminator, that's causing these signs to run for cover. You can only ignore Saturn for so long and then your reap what you've sown. Pay attention to Saturn, stay within the law, don't be guilty of hubris and you'll reap the positive side of the planet's influence, which is a reward for honest, hard work.

But the Republicans don't believe in hard work. They've tried to steal, bully, and destroy in order to get what they want. They've been going over the edge for some time. Bad Republicans started with Nixon. They think their money coupled with their lack of ethics allows them to do precisely what they want.

Everyone has to pay the piper for that tune.

Don't Despair--Arnold Won't Be Around Much Longer

Looking at California Governor Davis' and Lt. Governor's Bustamente's astrological cycles the night before the election filled me with such anxiety that I couldn't get back to sleep after awakening at four o'clock Tuesday morning. Saturn was putting the whammy on Davis' Venus and Bustamente's Sun. Arnold's aspects weren't all that great, but the two Democrat's aspects were worse for election day. I didn't want to write about it. I didn't want to think about it. I wanted to pretend for just a moment that astrology didn't really work.

Arnold's election is disturbing for many reasons, but when I look at his troublesome astrological aspects starting in November and continuing through next year when Saturn finally nabs him by moving into his first house of personality, I feel a little less distressed. The situation is growing from bad to worse in this country when you have to take heart from a politician's future cycles. I've never hoped or prayed for anyone's death, but I must tell you that Arnold is fast approaching an extremely dangerous time. I'm hoping for the other possibility--that he'll be removed from office either by recall or resignation. The latter part of November is a red zone when Mars(hostility and accidents) squares(producing stress) transiting Pluto(dark power grab) and forms an explosive energy pattern with Arnold's Mars. This aspect will affect his health, his work, his mental state and his career. Meanwhile, transiting Uranus is squaring his North and South node of the Moon( abrupt shocking changes impede his life path). The energy is all set up for a heart attack or a stroke brought on by the stress of being ill-fitted and ill-prepared for the position of Governor of the fifth largest economy of the world.

Although the Republican Party believes it has pulled another coup I discuss this in a diary entry for August 17, it has really set itself up for utter ruin. Despite Swartzenegger's win, other Republicans are sweating their eventual comeuppance.

Karl Rove-Bush's Right Hand Sleaze

Isn't Karl Rove a creepy little man? A Capricorn born on December 25, he looks like a sinister Pillsbury dough boy. Just looking at him turns my stomach; he's another sexually repulsive Republican operative. He's behind the outing of the CIA agent, Valerie Plame, despite the Bush White House's attempt to point the FBI at someone else, like Lewis "Scooter" Libby, an aide to the deeply disturbed Vice President. (Valerie Plame was outed in Robert Novak's column because the Bush administration wanted to pay her husband, Joseph Wilson, back for refuting the claim that Saddam Hussein had been trying to get yellowcake uranium from Niger). Reading Bush's Brain by James Moore or Boy Genius by Lou Dubose gives you a picture of a Machiavellian Rove that is capable of any sleazy trick to fill up the void in his soul and keep strict control over his internal chaos.

Karl's dirty ways are motivated by his nerdy sexless appearance well as the total lack of control that he experienced as a child. In order to feel safe, a Capricorn must feel in control of his environment. Many of us are aware of Capricorn Gray Davis' desire for control. Davis apparently had an abusive alcoholic father, which made his early childhood environment cold and unstable.

Rove also had a chaotic early homelife. He was raised by a man who was not his father, a stepfather who walked out on the family one Christmas. Karl's mother later committed suicide. When Rove tried to make up with his birth father years later, he apparently got the cold shoulder. While on the surface Rove appears cold and unemotional (Capricorn Sun sign), internally he's a selfish, emotional child(Moon in Cancer). His planetary aspects indicate that he's full of contradictions. Control vs the child-like need to be taken care of, desire to be iconoclastic and unconventional (Sun opposes Uranus--he's weird) and the need to be conservative and to fit in (Sun squares Saturn--He's a Republican).

An afflicted Moon in Cancer (probably in opposition to Venus in Capricorn) helps explain Rove's attraction to Bush as well as his bad luck with women. He wants desperately to be nurtured by a warm loving mother but she commited suicide years ago. He tells the story of being punched out by a neighbor girl who took issue with his support of Nixon during the 1960 election(he was ten years old at the time). His relationships with the opposite sex didn't improve when he got married to his first wife. She filed for divorce in 1979 and as explained in Bush's Brain, she told him at a counseling session with an Episcopal priest, "I don't know why I'm here. I don't love you. I've never loved you. And I'm leaving." Most women don't end up staying with men who want to be taken care of like little babies (Moon in Cancer) but are cold and controlling at the same time (Venus in Capricorn).

Keeping in mind his problems with women and knowing that with his Moon in Cancer, Rove would be particularly attracted to anyone that appeared to be supportive and nurturing, it's not too difficult to see the attraction to someone like George W. Bush, who with his Sun in Cancer might give people who didn't know him the idea that he was sensitive to their needs. I also believe that Rove is sexually attracted to Bush, which is born out by looking at their chart comparison as well as a comment he made about their first meeting. In Boy Genius Rove is quoted as saying about him, "Huge amounts of charisma, swagger, cowboy boots, flight jacket, wonderful smile, just charisma--you know, wow."  Obviously Bush (in Rove's eyes) is everything Rove isn't. This description also gives us the clue to where Bush got the idea to wear the infamous crotch bulging flight suit that he wore to commerate the "end" of the Iraq war.

On to the chart comparison, Rove's Pluto is conjunct Bush's Venus and his Mars is opposing Bush's Pluto. This is a dark sexual attraction based on power and threat. In Planets in Synastry, E.W. Neville describes the Venus Pluto aspect as the Venus person (Bush) feeling "a subconscious penetration into the inner self, almost like an involuntary tensing of the muscles in the stomach...there is an awareness that the Pluto person(Rove) is reaching them at a level immune to good sense and sound judgment. The Pluto person will tend to fix on the Venus person( Bush) with an often hard to control need to move in and encompass that person."

With Rove's Mars Opposing Bush's Pluto, E.W. Neville says that the aspect may "cause a titillating terror in the Mars person (Rove) a bit like that which motivates people to take heart-stopping rides in amusement parks...If it occurs in the context of strong emotional or sexual responses, it can add a darkly attractive note to the interaction. Certainly the Pluto person(Bush) will sense that he unbalances the Mars(Rove) person in some obscure way and may...decide to use this advantage to achieve some end. This is neither a warm or personal response, just an undertone of some subtle but powerful forces operating beneath the surface."

Karl and George's aspects are also intertwined by transiting Saturn aspects that are hitting now. It's Rove's Venus and George's Sun/Chiron square that are feeling the affects of this destructive planet's energies. So Rove has been implicated by Wilson(outed CIA agent Valerie Plame's husband) and others who claim that Rove is behind the leak. Karl's man, George, may have to cut him loose, particularly if the Justice Department actually does its work and finds him guilty. Incidently, Rove was cut loose from the 1992 George H.W. Bush campaign when he criticized Robert Mosbacher's handling of the 92 reelection committee out of Houston, the information coincidentally appearing in a Robert Novak's column. Karl always hated his reputation impugned so now it's been sullied with the Saturn on his Venus. This influence will continue for a couple of months and because it's Venus, the planet of love that's being affected, his present relationships may become a bit too chilly even for a cold one like Karl Rove.

Rush Limbaugh--Bombastic Drug Addict

Many of us are happy that Rush Limbaugh is "hearing" the toll of Saturn. We've been waiting a long time for this lying blowhard to pay the price. Another Capricorn who has yet to meet the full blast of the destructiveness of his ruling planet, hopefully Rush will be prosecuted for the drug addiction that caused his extensive hearing loss. Articles recently outlined the hearing loss that can come f rom abuse of the painkiller, Vicodan, one of the black market drugs he illegally purchased from his former housekeeper.

There might be some sympathy for this lousy Republican if he hadn't been so hypocritical about his drug use. He's railed against addicts in the past, demanding that they all do jail time for their abuse. Just like Bill Bennett and his gambling addiction, another holier-than-thou, hot air buffoon.

Rush was using pain killers because he's a very unhappy man, despite his wealth. With his Sun in the 12 House of secrets, he's felt inadequate all of his life, particularly in sexual matters.  His ruling planet Saturn in the 8th House of sex indicates that he's been unable to conquer his fear of intimacy and his longing for it. He has the Moon conjunct the North Node in Pisces(positive direction in life) which indicates that he is supposed to follow the compassionate path, not the critical carping one indicated by the South Node in Virgo(negative direction). Capricorn can't get away with arrogance. Like Nixon, its natives will always be brought down low.
