I’ve been studying the Mayan Calendar on and off for several years now, but recently I’ve been reading Barbara Hand Clow’s, The Mayan Code, and Carl Johann Calleman’s, The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness. I wrote about the calendar in a recent post and claimed that the end of the 2008 cycle ruled by the god of darkness, Tezcatlipoca, on November 13th meant that Obama would win the presidency and usher in the new cycle for 2009, which is ruled by the goddess of birth, Yohualticitl. With these two writers talking about the inevitable but positive transformation of consciousness that is occurring now, it is obvious that McCain does not fit with this cycle because he represents the old and the destructiveness of the Republican Party, while Obama who represents the new, does. There are other indications that the Obama presidency is meant to be.
There are 20 days signs in the Mayan Calendar. Each one of us is born under one of these signs. If you go to Calleman’s website, http://www.calleman.com you can find out more about his books as well as download a Mayan Calendar day sign calculator. I used this to calculate the United State’s day sign as well as Obama’s and I discovered that they were the same! As well as 20 day signs there are 13 numbers. Each individual is born with a sign and a number. Both the U.S. and Obama are born on 9 Ben (Reed). According to Clow in her Mayan Code, individuals born on this day have a special connection to Quetzalcoatl, the god of light. According to Calleman and some other scholars, Quetzalcoatl is a Christ-like figure. “Among the Maya,” Clow goes on to say, “(Reed) is the symbol of the spiritual authority of an elder…Those born into this day sign are often the carriers of a fair amount of authority and they know it…They are often leaders in society.” Their weakness lies in their inflexible views and high expectations. I don’t believe Obama is Christ but I do believe that he is meant to reinstate the true mission of this country, which is to be a light for the world as we come to the end of the Calendar October 28, 2011.
An Aquarian fellow I know, who I’ll call Psychic Bill, has been right so far with every prediction he’s made about the election. Right after he saw one of the Democratic debates, he said that Obama was going to win the primary and would go on to win the general election. “And,” he added, “He’ll be a wonderful president. Wait until you see what he’s going to do for our country. He’s going to win by 64%.” Bill still maintains that Obama will win in a landslide and I find it particularly interesting that he used to be a strong Republican voter and member of the NRA. He says that the Republican Party has almost destroyed itself along with this country and he’ll never vote for a Republican again.
Bill is right. Bush has blackened our mission and has almost destroyed it. McCain will not be able to change Bush’s failed direction and if elected will probably die and leave Sara Palin, the religious right-wing nut job, in charge. The Apocalypse will certainly arrive and we won’t have a prayer. However, I’m going along with Bill’s prediction and with the understanding of the Mayan Calendar, I’m saying that Obama will win the election and the fundamentalists, who are still waiting for the Rapture, will certainly be left behind.
