Democrats Infected by Bush’s Hateful Divisiveness Cause Some to Flee to McCain
Presidential ambition is a disease that can only be cured by embalming fluid—John McCain
Not only has Bush brought hateful divisiveness to the country at large, he’s also contributed to the poison leaching into the Democrats, which has in turn given McCain’s prospects a boost.
I’ve never seen such a divisive Democratic Primary season and it’s really begun to worry me. From Hillary being called a monster and a “fu..king whore” to Obama being defamed for not wearing a flag pin on his lapel and not rejecting a neighbor that used to be a weatherman 30 years ago to my ex-brother-in-law who says he’s voting for McCain if Hillary doesn’t win. He has always been a careful political thinker, voted Democratic and we’ve agreed on almost every political issue since he was a little boy and said he wanted to be president when he grew up.
I’ve been most disturbed about this divisiveness close to home and I’ve been obsessing about my daughter’s uncle for several days now. I’ve been framing an email in mind that goes something like this: And you’re voting for McCain because…
1. He wants to stay in Iraq for 100 years
2. He wants to bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran (sung to the Beach boys song). As a joke this is not one.
3. Called his wife a trollop and a c.nt (I read an article on Huffington Post that said a lot of white men might secretly like that)
4. How about what he said about Chelsea Clinton when she was a teenager and in the White House living with her parents: “Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father.”
5. Voted down every minimum wage increase in the Senate, including the last bill in 2007. But he voted for the Allard Amendment which would allow states to rescind the minimum wage.
6. Voted down or didn’t show up for votes on medical and educational benefits for Veterans.
7. Said we should deal with the economy by lowering taxes (still on the rich) and cut out spending (how about cutting spending on the War, Senator)
8. Rolling Stone political writer, Matt Taibbi has labeled him as “an aneurism waiting to happen.”
9. Threw his arms around the worst president in history and laid

10. In an interview he said shouldn’t have taken Pastor Haggee’s support. Thirty seconds later he said he didn’t mind the support. Pastor Haggee is the dangerous idiot that’s trying to bring on Armageddon. 11. Is opportunistic and will change his opinion constantly to grab votes, money, or opportunity. At first he said he was against Bush’s tax cuts for the rich and now he says he’s for them. In the beginning of his political career he said he was supportive of Roe V. Wade and now pandering to the religious right wing, he says he’ll rescind it.
12. McCain traveled to New Orleans 10 days ago and said the government’s reaction to Hurricane Katrina was pitiful. If he’d been president, he said, he would have flown down there on Air Force 1 immediately, yet he also failed in his response. While Katrina was making landfall he was meeting Bush in Arizona at the airport. Bush was there to help him celebrate his 69th birthday. Jonathan Stein writing the Mojo Blog for Mother Earth News says, “He voted against establishing a Congressional commission to examine the Federal, State, and local responses to Katrina in med-September 2005. He repeated that vote in 2006. He voted against allowing up to 52 weeks of unemployment benefits to people affected by the hurricane, and in 2006 voted against appropriating $109 billion in supplemental emergency funding, including $28 billion for hurricane relief.”
13. Despite being captured, tortured and imprisoned by the North Vietnamese for 5 years, he vacillates and panders about the use of water boarding by our government.
14. He told the homeowners that were losing their home in the subprime mortgage meltdown that it was their own fault.
Bush divisiveness has created animosity and an us-versus-them mentality between Democrats. People threatening to vote for McCain are doing so as a vote against Obama or, in some cases, Hillary. Many Americans, particularly white men, hate Hillary and many white men still don’t like the idea of voting for a young black man, without a lot of experience. Neither of the Democratic candidates is perfect. Both have flaws but both are better choices than McCain. If we want to progress we must dump the Republicans. Instead of dividing the Demos, the nasty finger of displeasure should be pointing at McCain and the Republicans instead, the ones that got us into this sorry state in the first place.
We can make the following correlations between McCain’s birth chart and character and personality.
McCain’s warlike attitudes and legendary hot temper are indicated by his Mars square Uranus in Fire Signs. With Mars (Aggression, anger) in the 10th House of Career and Public standing and Uranus (erratic and unpredictable) in the Seventh House of Relationships, fellow senators and partners have felt his explosive wrath. Astrologer CEO Carter in his book, Psychological Astrology, indicates that one of the astrological causes of combativeness is a “prominent Martian influence increased by an afflicted Uranus, which tends to perversity and disagreement with others.” At the same time and despite his mistreatment of others, he has and is able to attract money from his partners, and lots of it, because he has Jupiter (expansion) in his second house of money trine Mars ruler of his Seventh House of partners. His wife, Cindy, and her money have been instrumental in propelling his political career forward. This Mars/Uranus aspect also explains why he threw fits when he was a child and passed out. He is “an aneurism waiting to happen.”
Besides his explosive and impulsive Mars square Uranus another aspect is also not conducive to being the president of the United States. Pluto in his 10th house of career is also a good prognosticator of how he would perform in the office as president. Pluto is dictatorial and dark in its display, unless transformed into working for universal welfare. Pluto in his 10th house also explains his obsession with the presidency and his comment, “Presidential ambition is a disease that can only be cured by embalming fluid.”
His dictatorial nature is indicated by his Moon in Capricorn opposing Pluto from his fourth house of home and early childhood to his 10th house of Career. This indicates one parent probably the Mother (Moon) was cold and controlling (Capricorn) and she was in conflict (opposition) with an obsessive Father that had a dictatorial dark side (Pluto). He was the one that influenced his choice of career 10th House, which was a continuation of his own military profession, which was a repeat of his father’s naval career. Apparently, McCain had a lot of mixed feelings about joining the Navy but I imagine that his father was so domineering that he felt that he had little choice. There were a lot of dark energies seeping into his early childhood home. He was able to wall them out with his Moon in Capricorn but this has made him manipulative and cold, emotionally.
His political opportunism is indicated by his mutable grand cross. Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) are opportunistic because they’re so adaptable, swinging one way and then another to make do. We might say that he panders because he secretly wants to be liked or even loved because Venus the planet of love is involved in this mutable cross. The four cross beams include Venus (Love) in Virgo in his 12th House of secrets and the unconscious (secret love affairs is another interpretation), conjunct (in the same place as) Neptune (delusion and fantasy), opposing Saturn (limitations) in his 6th House (work and health) squared Jupiter (expansion) in his 2nd House of Money and Chiron (wound that never heals) in his 9th house of public speaking, schooling, and foreign affairs. This sounds confusing but we can break it into several pieces and come up with a pithy analysis.
Venus in the 12th House conjunct Neptune indicates that his Achilles heel is his love relationships and his acute desire for finding the perfect mate. With Venus opposing Saturn (limitations and blockages) he’s always felt unloved, particularly as a child, which makes him extremely defensive (Saturn). Yet he still longs for a fantasy mate that will love him unconditionally. Of course no one can live up to his expectations so he picks at and criticizes his partners. Further his defensiveness creates difficulties in his work and health, (Saturn in 6th House), and is probably one of the reasons for his cancer diagnosis. Because Jupiter is involved with this grand cross, he can go overboard sometimes and instead of acting selfish and defensive with Saturn, he can be overly expansive and generous with money, particularly if he thinks he’s found the person of his dreams. He goes back and forth, sucking people into his jovial, he thinks, witty aura (Jupiter) and then throws them aside when he’s in his defensive mode(Venus/Neptune/Saturn) and discovers that the idealized person is flawed like everyone else.
