It’s not just about the lunatics in charge of the asylum although that cliché does seem to describe our present government. It’s also about the low-level criminals who’ve managed to pool their resources and shut down our great democratic experiment. Low level meaning that these people have the consciousness of a flea. When we talk about all the great personages of the world, we are in touch with higher consciousness. They’re individuals that see beyond their own petty greedy ends. They have a burning need for all of us to use our potential and reach beyond it. I remember having a dream once about Bill Clinton coming to town. I stood on the side of the road, watching him go by in his car when he leaped out and ran towards me. “Be what you can be,” he said. “Don’t let your appearance or anything else stop you.” At that time (early 90s) we were still poor. We had no health insurance and no money to pay for dental care. I was missing several teeth and was ashamed of my appearance. I believe then as I do now that Clinton is a great personage (although a flawed one) who knew that all of us need a chance to develop. That dream gave me some support for going on with my dreams. I’ve now started a publishing company and have written two books and I’m working on my third. My husband and I are no longer poor. We own a home, have health and dental insurance. We’re now living the American dream, but with no thanks to Bush and his criminal class friends who couldn’t care less about any of us realizing our potential.
I’m tired of waking up every morning to a country that continues to harbor these lower consciousness criminals. I’m so tired I feel physically sick. I’m tired of applauding when one of them dies, like Jerry Falwell or D. James Kennedy, and I am tired of imagining they end up in the place they deserve. I know I’m in a sorry state when I pray for their demise every night before I go to sleep. Is it ok to pray for the demise of psychopathic politicians? Wasn’t it ok to pray for the death of Adolph Hitler, or Benito Mussolini, or Joseph Stalin, or Pol Pot? Part of me thinks I should be praying for the rehabilitation of criminals like Bush and Cheney, and the other side just wants them gone for good.
Some with higher consciousness believe that these criminals in charge are really the death throe sputterings at the end of this age. I can believe that, but I would like the bastards to come more quickly to an end so we don’t have to go on and on experiencing the suffering of millions at their bloody hands. Isn’t it about time for this planet to move on into the light?
