Karl gave a little good-by speech yesterday that was the best example of a Mercury square Neptune delusion that I’ve seen in quite sometime. He thanked the president for being able to work with the “extraordinary men and women” in the White House and complimented Bush on having “far sighted courage to put the country on a war footing”. He claimed that the president boosted the economy and created jobs. Keith Olbermann had a good phrase for Karl’s Mercury/Neptune blither; he called it science fiction.
It’s interesting that he should announce his political demise to the world on the day the Sun conjuncted (in the same place as) his Pluto (dark power) and was opposed by transiting Neptune (deception).
Rove has many conflicts in his Capricorn (control freak) dominated chart. The Sun in Capricorn is opposed to Uranus, creating chaos (unpredictability) periodically when he expected his control to be secure, like the results of the last election, for example. He can be extremely icy and unemotional (Capricorn) but he’s overly sensitive with easily hurt feelings because his Moon in Cancer. His Mercury in Capricorn wants to be logical and Machiavellian but square to Neptune, he’s prone to fantasy thinking and with Venus in Capricorn, he is cold and manipulative in relationships but square to Neptune, he longs for a perfect partner and is easily disillusioned. The oppositions from Capricorn to Cancer planets indicate that his control issues come from a dysfunctional family life. He didn’t know his birth father and found out his stepfather was not his biological father only when he left on Karl’s 19th birthday, Christmas 1969, to follow a gay life style. Apparently, his birth father was mean to him when Karl met him later on in life. His mother killed herself in 1980.
Considering his family troubles, I’d have some empathy for Rove if he wasn’t such a bastard and he hadn’t been so destructive to this country with his cold and selfish grasping for power. His Venus Uranus opposition (unconventional sexual choices) and Venus Neptune square (love fantasies) attracted him to Bush, who he said had “huge amounts of charisma, swagger, cowboy boots, flight jacket, wonderful smile, just charisma, you know, wow.” The two of them, together, have put this country on the road to the Dark Place. Hopefully, there’s a strong enough Democratic president that can help us turn around and go back towards the Light.
