We all know that Dick Cheney is a jerk, but he’s worse than that. He’s a psychopathic jerk. I’ve written about this numerous times but he continues to do things that compel me to write another “Dick Cheney is a psychopath” article. I sound like a broken record even to myself but people are still continually asking me what’s wrong with him. “He’s a psychopath,” I tell them. “He was born that way.” I found a website that lists traits of people with this character disorder and he’s got most of them. It’s disturbing to fully realize that the Vice President of the United States has a major personality disorder. However, Paul Roberts, a conservative who used to work in the Reagan administration, believes that the entire Bush administration is made up of dangerous psychopaths. That’s the reason the majority of Americans don’t understand what has been happening to our country. How can normal people understand these monsters with no conscience?
Psychopaths believe that they are a law onto themselves, so does Dick Cheney. As a pathological Aquarius, the glorification of the individual has gone to an extreme. Aquarians generally believe that the rights of the individual outweigh the rights of the many. Dick Cheney believes that the rights of Dick Cheney outweigh the rights of everyone on the face of the planet.
In his latest psychopathic blooper Cheney has refused the National Archives their request for Vice Presidential papers. All administrations turn over their written materials to the National Archives and yet Cheney says he’s not part of the Executive Department of the Government and he doesn’t have to do any such thing. When I look at his chart I see several interesting aspects describing his unique attitude toward the law. Uranus, the planet of individualism and ruler of Aquarius is in the 9th house of law and philosophy, as well as higher education and publicly expressed thoughts. Uranus always wants to do its own thing in whatever astrological House it’s in. Not only has Cheney’s philosophy in life been “do your own thing”, it’s also been “never include anyone else’s thing.” And his attitudes have always been bizarre. While a Congressman, he wanted to get rid of Head Start and continue our relationship with South Africa unhindered, despite Apartheid.
With Mercury in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus, Cheney has twisted logic based upon a rationalization of what benefits Dick Cheney. He’s now determined he’s not a member of the executive branch because he doesn’t want to give up vice-presidential papers to the National Archives. He has even attempted to shut down this department.
We’ve discussed previously that deep down Cheney feels inadequate. Saturn square his Sun means that his sense of self (Sun) is dampened, restricted (Saturn). At the same time he has Jupiter, the planet of expansion, square his Sun. His sense of self (Sun) is also expanded, exaggerated, inflated (Jupiter). This aspect is compensation for the Sun Saturn square. It’s much more fun feeling superior than inadequate. Jhampa Shaneman and Jan V. Angel in their excellent book, Buddhist Astrology, point out that there are introverted and extroverted expressions of the Sun square Saturn aspect. “The introverts look down on themselves and are pessimistic while the extroverts often seek to control others. These individuals may hate being uncomfortable or vulnerable.” Obviously, Cheney is an extroverted version of the aspect.
Since Saturn often describes the father, with Saturn square the Sun, Cheney ego was limited by his father. Cheney’s grandfather in turn limited his father. Dick’s father’s horoscope indicates as much with a Saturn Pluto Sun Mercury conjunction. With Saturn in Dick’s 9th house of religion and philosophy, I would suspect that Cheney’s father was severe, particularly with regards to ethics and morals and tried to teach his psychopathic son moral values and failed. When Dick ran for Congress in Wyoming, his father told him not to take his vote for granted. Dick’s parents were strong Roosevelt supporters. Dick’s politics were, apparently, always conservative and, at the same time, offbeat (Uranus in Taurus). Dick’s relationship with his father must have been bad for him to stage such a drastic rebellion against his parents’ political persuasions.
In order to compensate for his feelings of inadequacy as evidenced by this Saturn Sun pattern, Cheney used the Jupiter square Sun to exaggerate his self-worth to make himself feel special. He said he didn’t go to Vietnam because he had other priorities. Translation: I’m destined for something greater. I can’t risk my life when someone else who’s not as important as I am should go in my stead.
Another trait of psychopaths is a lack of remorse and a shrugging off of responsibility. The Bush and Cheney decision to go to war in Iraq has brought about the deaths of thousands yet Bush tells us that God told him to go ahead with it while Cheney still claims, despite all evidence to the contrary, that there were weapons of mass destruction as well as a link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein. He thinks he contributed to humanity by starting the war. Deaths of Iraqis are just collateral damage. It’s hard to say whether Cheney is simply exhibiting another trait of psychopathology, which is deceit and manipulation or whether he’s still deluding himself with the Saturn (reality) Neptune (fantasy) opposition, that many of us have been experiencing, squaring his Uranus.
Another indication that he shrugs off responsibility is his reaction to the Scooter Libby trial. Unlike other Libby “friends”, he wrote no letter asking the judge to be lenient about Libby’s incarceration. Further, he was the person responsible for the outing of Valerie Plame but he refuses to come forward in order to get Libby off the hook. What a man.
The only people that Cheney seems to be loyal to are his family members. Despite Venus, the planet of love and relationships being in the cold sign of Capricorn, he does have positive trines with Neptune and Uranus as well as sextiles to the Moon in Pisces. Perhaps he got along with his mother when he was young and with the Moon opposing Neptune, he may have idealized her. On the other hand, the Moon is also square Mars, which indicates that he could have been short tempered with her as well as with his wife and daughters. Still, his lesbian daughter seems to like him. A Moon square Mars, by the way, also indicates impulsivity, and it’s a psychopathic trait as well.
So we know about the Vice-President’s psychopathology. Where does that leave us? Are we any closer to being rid of him? Besides the Neptune opposing Saturn and square his Uranus, which could indicate his being dragged into court, Progressed Mars is still opposing Pluto, which is an indication of pressure to or from friends and associates. Transiting Uranus square his Mars could bring on accidents, particularly in the home, while transiting Pluto square Neptune could indicate problems with home, family and money. Reinhold Ebertin in his book, Transits, says the following about a bad aspect between Pluto and Neptune: “Peculiar circumstances, pursuit of fantastic ideas with subsequent disappointment, self-torture, craving for alcohol, drugs, possessed with an idea, severe loss, danger through forces of nature.” Maybe he’ll drown his sorrows and disappointment in booze and drugs when his pursuit of bizarre ideas comes to naught and end up being electrocuted by a lightning strike. God will impeach him. The Congress won’t have to.
