According to Republican Party confidante and journalist Robert Novak, Republicans are telling him that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is incompetent and should be fired for his part in the dismissals of eight United States attorneys due to their perceived disloyalty to the president. Novak also writes that a credible source in the White House says that Bush will never ask Gonzales to resign. Gonzales has been Bush’s attorney for years, beginning when Bush was Governor of Texas but he acts like the president’s valet, and just like any rich man’s valet he’s allowed Bush to get away with murder and kept silent about it. "Even Ashcroft would push back at the White House when they pushed too far - Gonzalez, never," said Senator Schumer, who voted against Mr. Gonzales' appointment after interviewing him… He totally saw his role as George Bush's lawyer."
Gonzaleshas six Leo planets. Leo is known for its demand for attention and strong drive for significance. At first glance it’s a puzzle why an individual with an ego that demands constant gratification would be a wimpy Cancer president’s toady. However when we look closer we see that his Mercury (thinking) Jupiter (overly optimistic, inflated) Sun (ego) Mars (assertiveness, anger) conjunction are not only square his Saturn but are being impinged upon by Bush's Mercury Pluto conjunction. Saturn, which represents Gonzales’ father or any authority figure like Bush, is suppressing his overwhelming drive to be in complete control. Furthermore, Bush’s Pluto is bringing out Gonzalez’ dark side and making it flower. It’s probably vice-versa, as Gonzalez, the country’s chief attorney, has given Bush the go-ahead on actions that are clearly unconstitutional or illegal. For example, he concluded that Article III of the Geneva Convention was “outdated and ill-suited for dealing with captured Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters,” thus giving the nod for illegal treatment of prisoners. He also argued “that the undefined language in the Geneva Convention such as ‘outrages upon personal dignity” and ‘inhuman treatment,’ could make officials and military leaders subject to the War Crimes Act of 1996 if mistreatment was discovered.”
Just like most of Bush’s other relationships, he also has a troubling chart comparison with Gonzalez. Besides the cross stimulation of Bush’s Mercury Pluto conjunction and Gonzalez’ Mercury Jupiter Sun Mars conjunction, Bush’s Venus is conjunct Gonzalez’ Pluto which makes me wonder about an obsessive relationship. Whenever Pluto is involved with Venus (love and relationship), there are dark currents of possessiveness and obsession. What’s the possibility that Gonzalez is fixated on Bush? E.W.Neville says in Planets in Synastry, that the Pluto person (Gonzalez) “will tend to fix on the Venus person (Bush) with an often hard to control need to move in and encompass the person.” The Venus person will feel that the Pluto person is “reaching them at a level immune to good sense and sound judgment.” There is also a possible quid pro quo with Gonzalez’s Venus in a wide conjunction to Bush’s Pluto.
Further troubling aspects involve Gonzales’ Uranus square Neptune landing on Bush’s 12th House Saturn. This aspect combination is liable to create paranoia. Gonzales' Uranus (the awakener) is stirring up Bush’s paranoid Saturn in the 12th house and it is made worse by Gonzales’ delusional Neptune involvement. This could account for Gonzales' paranoia that the undefined language in the Geneva Convention would make officials and military leaders subject to the War Crimes Act.
Although Gonzales’ Saturn in Scorpio is making an harmonious trine to Bush’s Sun in his 12th house of vulnerabilities, making him loyal to Bush, it makes a square to Bush’s Venus/Pluto midpoint, increasing Bush’s sadistic paranoia. Saturn in Scorpio is sexual repression and I think Gonzalez may have a sexual fixation on Bush. Bush surrounds himself with people like Harriet Myers, Condi Rice who seem to fall in love with him. All repressed sexuality is dangerous, gay or straight according to Wilhelm Reich. Look at Hitler, J. Edgar Hoover, Roy Cohn, and Ted Haggard. Or how about Father Escriva, the neurotic founder of the Catholic lay order, Opus Dei. Further troubling evidence of Gonzales’ sexual repression lies in the suspicion that the Attorney General and Karl Rove are behind the Justice Department’s failure to investigate cases of pedophilia in the West Texas State School Youth Detention facility.
It doesn’t take much of an imagination to see a time when Gonzalez’ repressed energy could erupt like Mt. Vesuvius. Like Senator Charles Schumer and writers at Slate magazine, I think that time may be soon when Gonzales will be forced to resign. Saturn, which is presently in Leo and has already tagged all of Gonzales’ Leo planets, will finally hit Pluto, the last one in the stellium, in July. Saturn is God’s taskmaster. It only eases up and doesn’t make you pay the price if you’ve walked the straight and narrow.
Al Gore has also been getting Saturn aspects but he’s been walking the straight and narrow. Saturn has been making its return to its natal place but Gore has reaped the rewards of accepting the responsibility of Saturn’s tasks. He single-handedly has made the world pay attention to global warming.
Although I don’t like Gonzales I’m not praying for his ruin. I’m afraid, though, that with his peculiar chart (he has very few aspects save for the massive conjunctions of his planets in Leo square Saturn), he will probably have a breakdown when Saturn is finished with him. This could lead to a transformation, however, that could be beneficial. Being a toady to a stupid president is hardly edifying. There must be something better he could do with his life.
